Investing in Malawi


Investing in Malawi is a feature length documentary that will examine the social, economic and environmental benefits and repercussions of the first uranium mine in the Kayelekera region of Malawi. The program will present interviews with politicians in Malawi’s government, activists, and Paladin representatives as well as experts in the field of environmentalism, economics, and anthropology. Most importantly, this documentary will examine how this uranium mine has impacted Malawians in the region.

Target Audience

The primary audience of Investing in Malawi is socially conscious adults (re: college students), aged 18 to 25. The secondary audience is adults 25 to 49 who may not be as politically or socially motivated as this younger group but interested in environmental themed programs.

Media Mix

The primary market for Investing in Malawi is educational distribution on DVD and streaming video. An audio version will also be created for release in Malawi.
